Helping People Live, Learn and Earn in Our Community
The Geauga County Early Intervention Program works with Geauga local school districts and the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve (ESC) to ensure a smooth transition for children exiting the Early Intervention Program. The goal of preschool services is to prepare all children for kindergarten by offering an environment that focuses on all areas of development so your child can gain a sense of self, explore, play with peers and build confidence.
The ESC of the Western Reserve provides preschool to any child between the ages of 3-5 throughout both Lake and Geauga Counties. Their preschool locations in Geauga County include the Metzenbaum Center, Jordak Elementary and Ledgemont Elementary. In addition, Kenston and Chardon School districts have their own preschool classrooms.
Children will be assessed through a variety of methods, including play-based observation and parent interviews/questionnaires. In some cases, children need further evaluations and may qualify for specialized services in the areas of occupational, speech/language, or physical therapy. All staff though ESC or your local school district are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.
To begin the process for preschool eligibility contact the ESC at (440) 350-2563 ext. 734 or visit their website at https://www.escwr.org/ or your local school district to assist you.
